Steadfast Brand has a tendency to work with incredibly animated people, and our next Crew Interview is sure to confirm that fact. Stephen is a character through and through (he literally does the best Mickey Mouse impression you've ever heard), and he's a delight to have in the office, if only to be the guy that makes cheesier jokes than you. Read on on find out how he became a part of Steadfast Brand, and what he's helping with for the future!
My name is Stephen Csombok, and I have been working with Steadfast Brand for about 5 years now. When I first signed on it was part time, I helped on the graphics side assisting Aurora (Vice President of Steadfast Brand) with anything she needed. Fast forward four months and I was brought on full time. My main job was to set up and manage wholesale accounts. I also assisted in pulling orders in our warehouse and attending tattoo expos to sell our merchandise.
I first met Chris and Aurora when I was managing the Hart and Huntington tattoo studio at Universal CityWalk in Orlando. We carried Steadfast Brand in the shop and they were stopping by to check it out. While they were in the shop I was actually getting tattooed and they noticed that my hand had an anchor on it that said Steadfast. A few years after helping open that shop, I moved down south for about a year and a half. I missed the hustle in Orlando and when I came back I reached out to Chris to see if they needed any help. I ended up taking a job at a restaurant, but always kept in contact with Chris. About 8 months later, I was at a cigar club downtown and I ran into Chris and Aurora. We started talking shop and the rest is history.
I love spending time with my wife and our two dogs Ninja and Sake, aka the Pom Squad! When I'm not spending time with them, you can find me with a cigar in one hand and (on most occasions) a nice glass of whiskey in the other.
That's a tough one! I would have to say the best cigar I have had to date is one that was gifted to me by my very good friend and Steadfast Brand jeweler, Justin Wentzel. It was a very rare Ramon Allones Cuban cigar. I enjoyed it while out in Vegas doing some work on the blackjack table. But my go-to cigar is the Padron Series 1964, so take notes because Christmas is coming!
One of the funniest and craziest stories I have is from around three years ago on 4th of July. I just started dating my wife-to-be and I thought, "what better way to impress her then to set off mortars in front of our offices?" It's a tradition for Steadfast Brand to have these crazy 4th of July extravaganzas, but this was my first time ever firing off mortars. I lit the fuse and dropped it in the tube. Immediately, it made a loud whistling sound and it wasn't shooting up into the air. I noticed everyone around me started running, so I did the same. The mortar exploded in the tube, and it was like a scene out of a war movie. Plastic, metal, lighting, monsters, trains, rocks, and flames shot out of this tube, blowing off the plastic leg of the chair my (future) wife was sitting in! She was SO lucky that it didn't hit her leg because it would be a goner and she would have been single lol. I have still not been able to live that down at work or at home, and it was all because of a faulty mortar. (I actually put the mortar in upside down... but whatever.)
I have a pretty eclectic group of work ranging from black and grey, new school, Japanese, and traditional. I started getting tattooed fairly young so looking at them every day brings me back to my youth.
I just spoke to my good friend Russ Abbott about doing a cigar label in a very ornate style on my leg, so I am super pumped about that! I'm sure I'll make plans for more after that.
You name it and I'm involved in it. Steadfast Brand for me is a lifestyle, so I try to interject myself into everything that we have going on. We have a lot of very cool things in the works and I'm very excited for the future of our company.
Here's the truth, since Bad Boys 2 came out, [editor's note: this was the year 2003] there hasn't been another movie worth going to the theater to see. Just kidding, but not really.
Hahahaha, ok here we go! Jewban, Mr. Chombush, Steubs, Steuban Sauceback, Stevie Knuckles, Lil Blista, and a choice few I'll leave off due to censorship.
I thought you would never ask! I like to get pretty turnt up, especially when I'm driving. I jam out to 2 Chainz, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, John Legend, 2pac, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, ASAP Rocky, Drake, Yelawolf, Hopsin, Taylor Swift, Usher, 1962, Bhee You, Blink, Maylene, Transplants, Temptations and a lot more.
That's easy. Steadfast!
Stephen's one of those people that answers in text the same way he does in person; lively. He's always enthusiastic, and brings a lot of determination and effort with him every day at work. Thank you for everything you do for Steadfast Brand, Stephen.
